The department of Electrical engineering was established in 1921. It was the first department in Karnataka to offer a degree in Electrical engineering.  The department has an excellent teaching staff with several PhDs from reputed institutes like IITs and IISc. The department has a one of its kind Power System Simulation lab and Power electronics lab .The alumni of this department have occupied prestigious positions in India and abroad and have brought laurels to the department and the college.
